CWG Effects

The hype around the success or failure around CWG is slowly fading away.

I waited for a couple of days after opening ceremony to put in my views.

The biggest plus point in India is it's Cultural Diversity..

 

Why did I say so? Just remember the way the visual media , newspapers tried to bring out all the scandals, corruption and the irresponsibility of the whoever organized the CWG(all included) were all forgotten the way the cultural diversity took the central stage in the opening ceremony and termed it as a one of the most grand opening ever seen.

The way Delhi look changed.The way Delhiites see Delhi changed.The way all people came together to make this a wonderful experience for all those came from other countries. And as for our own experience we know very deep inside and regularly say that no matter how sweet this looks from outside, its still gonna be bitter from inside. Let this CWG finish off, Delhi wud change to the old way.

I can't understand why are we so speculative about impressing foreigners when we ourselves know that whatever changes are made now are just momentary . Did the government forget that there are already enough foreigners already living in Delhi as part of their duties in the embassies? They saw both Delhi before CWG and will continue to see after that. If its for tourism promotion, I think its a wrong step towards a long journey, I said long journey cos you cant change things in a fortnight specially the culture that's in blood of most of the Indians.

The main problem with Indians is that whatever good things they receive or get they are not able to sustain it for long. See how clean the streets are, see how most of the traffic rules are followed, see how the bus shelters are maintained. Just one question how long they are gonna remain so?? I hope and wish at least the cleanliness to be taken care off.

The Power Crisis...

Power saved is power earned.I used to believe this concept. But once I came to this city it changed like anything. What people believe here is that once you have the power use it to the maximum coz you are not sure even if u save power will it in turn benefit you.So it's all circling around benefit of their own.

I am talking about electricity.And this summer is no exception. For instance, yesterday the electricity went off @ 10.30 pm. And as usual all the AC's,fans and almost all the appliances are in "switched on" position. So even if electricity knocks back it can't hold on to the sudden load of all the turned on appliances and there it goes again.And guess what it came back @ 2.30 am when the technician connected a fuse equivalent to the size of a Adult Finger(Middle Finger to be more precise).
 

AC usage : I think the best way would be to regulate the amount of electricity one should use. Instead of charging them more for more use just disconnect. People with simple Air Coolers and Fans should be given more priority.

Don't blame the electricians as I myself witnessed them working 24 hrs.Yesterday I saw a person getting abusive telling that he will pull some
god damned politicians to take care of this issue of frequent power outage.
Still he is not ready to promise to save electricity. And what is that politician gonna do, will he come and connect the fuse in the middle of the night. No way.

Grow up people. These small technicians n engineers are doing whatever they can just to get you some sleep and then you in turn threaten to make them loose their sleep. What an irony??

Why there is No Save Electricity Drive in this city? If you ask people they will argue they dont get enough to save.But then will they save if they get enough. No will be the answer,coz they aren't used to do any good to and for the society.

What's All This About...

Why this idea came to me?? I can't explain...

Rather than describing the historic value of the city I was more into present situation of the city. History is history and the present is where we live. So I thought the present would be a better place to throw some light upon since the present will become an history later.

For last 2 years I am an resident of this city and previous to that I used to be here frequently at least once in an year. Seen some drastic changes that happened around and right now witnessing may be what we could call the facial makeover. I said facial coz its just an beautification of the skin not on the mindset of people. The real fact is that the original Delhi will always remain the same. Old wine in a new bottle but will that make the wine taste any better. I don't think so.

Why is that?

A simple explanation to that would be that the thinking mentality of people still remains the same no matter what facilities you provide or give them, they still use to have things their own way.

The first question that came to my mind was: If there was no CWG then wud Delhi be like this?? No CWG or CWG this changes are only temporary. Wait and watch.

Why is the government making this city a world class one??

Why are they so concerned about International reputation when films like Slumdog Millionare won Oscars? I am thankful to that movie coz it gave the real fact about India.So no use in making this a world class city when 95% of the country is in in ruins.. I said 95 % coz for the rest 5 % it doesn't mater how India looks or feel..

I wonder before bidding for CWG didnt the government felt the need of making this at least a better place to live. I think next time India should bid for Olympics to at least it will give a face lift to different cities.

Some of the facts that comes to my mind:

DTC : Delhi Transport Corporation or is it Delhi Traffic Chokers??

I haven't seen them stopping anywhere near the Bus Stop. The most favorite spot for them would be in middle of the road. Or criss cross pattern in front of a Blue Line(They are other major chokers.)

Then our own Autowalas: They Drive as if the road is theirs. Going at 30-40 km/ph on the right most lane. Do they know about Lane driving?? Then you can never expect where they will turn or where they will stop.

Now then they are not the only one's responsible for the sad situations.

There are many. We ourselves are to blamed first.

The 50 % of all the problems in this city is coz of traffic Jams and the rest 50 % is the way people behave. Every one is some one big or influential. No body is ready to accept their fault and the most common thing wud be blaming.Even if someone rams his vehicle into others he is the one who is innocent. God help this city..

It's not that things that are failing here, 

it's just that things are made to be a failure here.

It's not that rules that are failing here, 

it's just that they are bend to suit the situations.

It's not that people who are failing here, 

it's just that they are not ready to accept the reality.

It's not that justice is what that is denied here, 

it's just that justice is not served at all.

It's not that the government fails here, 

it's just that government servants are loyal to themselves.
